From our iconic location in Charleston’s City Market, we warmly welcome locals, new visitors, and longtime client friends who return year-after-year for irreplaceable mementos of their time here, timeless pieces that add joy and meaning to milestone moments and the treasured gifts of kindness, laughter, and good stories.

We’re honored and grateful to share all that we know and love about jewelry and Charleston with generations of client friends here, and around the world. Thank you for helping us build a business, a family, a brand, and an ever-growing community in the place we love to call home.

This is our story.
Founded in 1975 by two crazy-in-love kids, Glenn and Vicki Wolfe, who landed in Charleston by way of a cross-country adventure in their VW bug. Their travels took them on adventures throughout the West, where they made new friends and collected art, jewelry, and pottery.

Inspired, they trekked back to Charleston with a car full of memories, art, and jewelry – and leased tables in the Charleston Market to begin selling them to locals and visitors alike.

From the beginning, we loved the hands-on opportunity to make jewelry. Always eager to learn, Glenn sketched jewelry designs and soon learned to make castes. The result was a handmade collection of charms that are still customer favorites!

In a bold move, Glenn asked to rent the utility closet where the store is currently located. He soon converted it into 300 square feet of retail space, complete with full-size antique showcases. At home in the jewel box shop, business skyrocketed!

Though Hurricane Hugo filled the store with 49 inches of mud, after much hard work and rebuilding, Gold Creations (and Charleston!) came back, better than ever.

Like the sun setting over the water, Gold Creations continues to welcome locals, new visitors, and longtime client friends who return year-after-year for irreplaceable mementos of their time here, timeless pieces that add joy and meaning to milestone moments and the treasured gifts of kindness, laughter, and good stories.
